WASHINGTON, D.C., June 22, 2020 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international law firm, announced today that Nadira Clarke, a partner in the firm’s Environmental, Safety & Incident Response Section, has been named a Fellow of The American College of Environmental Lawyers, for her contributions to the field of environmental law.

Nadira is an accomplished environmental litigator with first-chair trial experience. Her practice is focused on large-scale government enforcement actions, including criminal investigations, in the aftermath of an environmental incident or major accident. She has provided counsel to companies involved in some the most significant accidents in the last 10 years.

Nadira previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Maryland, and a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. Well-versed in the area of corporate compliance and business ethics, she has worked with two separate corporate monitor teams appointed by the court to oversee compliance of companies in the wake of criminal prosecution. She previously served as counsel to the Department of Justice's Office of Professional Responsibility, where she led internal professional ethics investigations involving federal prosecutors and high-ranking Department of Justice officials.
