Baker Botts' Lawyer Cynthia J. Cole Named a 2020 "Woman of Influence" by Silicon Valley Business Journal

PALO ALTO, May 27, 2020 – Palo Alto-based special counsel Cynthia J. Cole has been named a Silicon Valley Business Journal 2020 “Woman of Influence.” The award recognizes “the most influential women in the Silicon Valley” who demonstrate influence in their industries and communities.

“I am most proud when I see that I made a difference, even to just one person,” Ms. Cole told the publication.

Ms. Cole, a former general counsel and CEO, is one of 100 women who received the designation. Her fellow honorees are leaders in corporations, startups, small businesses, nonprofits, healthcare, education and community services.

Ms. Cole advises public and private companies on a range of complex transactions, particularly related to technology, corporate transactional and data privacy issues such as the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) and the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). She counsels clients on technology transactions and deals, big data, data privacy, data sharing and IP licensing, creating bespoke agreements in novel technology fields. Ms. Cole is certified as an Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. An adjunct Professor at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, Ms. Cole teaches a course on information and data privacy.
