HOUSTON, August 5, 2019 –Baker Botts tax partner and Houston pro bono chair, Keri Brown, has been selected to receive the 2019 Pro Bono Leadership Award from Texas Appleseed on November 14, 2019, marking the first time that an individual (instead of a law firm) has received this award.

Texas Appleseed notes that Ms. Brown “is an ardent supporter of Texas Appleseed whose extensive knowledge, efficiency, and passion aided us immensely as the team leader behind the production of our online toolkit for financial caregivers” and she “continues to support Texas Appleseed at every turn.”

Keri serves as a trusted advisor to some of the nation's most prominent individuals on complex federal estate, gift and income tax litigation and controversy matters, including disputes and litigation with the Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service. She recently was elected as a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and previously was honored as part of the Houston Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” Class of 2018.
