Baker Botts’ Top-Ranked Antitrust Group Represents Indorama Ventures Ltd. in $2.0 Billion Acquisition of Huntsman’s Specialty Chemicals Business


WASHINGTON D.C., August 7, 2019 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading energy and technology law firm, today announced that it is representing Indorama Ventures Ltd. for antitrust clearances globally in its planned acquisition of the integrated oxides and derivatives businesses of Huntsman. The two companies today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Indorama would acquire these assets for $ 2.0 billion plus assumption of certain obligations. The Baker Botts team is led by partners Michael Perry and Steve Weissman, assisted by counsel David Cardwell and associate Timothy Singer. All are located in the Washington, DC office, except for Brussels-based Cardwell. The same Baker Botts attorneys were part of the team that represented Indorama last year on the FTC’s conditional approval of Corpus Christi Polymers, LLC, Indorama’s joint venture with other PET resin producers to purchase a future state-of-the art PET resin production facility from M&G Resins out of bankruptcy.
