WASHINGTON, D.C., March 27, 2019 - Baker Botts, L.L.P., a leading international law firm, today announced that Jeffrey H. Wood, former Acting Assistant Attorney General for the Justice Department’s Environment & Natural Resources Division, will be joining the firm’s Environmental Law Practice based in Washington, D.C.

“Our clients will benefit from Jeff’s 16 years of senior government, corporate, and law firm experiences. Jeff has a deep understanding of the environmental laws and regulations that affect our clients and sees the broader context and emerging trends of these regulations,” said Andrew M. Baker, Managing Partner of Baker Botts.

“With almost two years as the Department of Justice’s top environmental lawyer, Jeff has a strong national reputation and a unique capability to assist clients with responding to and resolving federal environmental matters,” said Scott Janoe, a Houston-based partner and Chair of the firm’s Environmental Law Practice.

“We are excited to welcome Jeff to our team of environmental and energy attorneys in the firm’s Washington D.C. office. With his strong background, Jeff is well positioned to help our clients resolve federal enforcement, compliance, and policy challenges and achieve business objectives across the energy and technology fields,” said Paul Cuomo, Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s Washington D.C. office.

“Over the last 12 months we have added nine new partners to our Washington D.C. office, in areas such as Antitrust, Appellate, Intellectual Property and Environmental law. Their deciding to join our firm really speaks to our momentum, the reputation of the firm and our focus on providing world class client service,” added Mr. Cuomo.

“Baker Botts is a firm with an unparalleled legacy of leadership in environmental and energy law, a deep bench of talented lawyers, and impressive core values of professional excellence, teamwork, collegiality and service back to the community,” said Jeff Wood.
