WASHINGTON, D.C., February 13, 2019 – Baker Botts L.L.P., is excited to announce that Maureen Ohlhausen, a Chair of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Law Practice, has been selected by The American Lawyer as one of the 25 biggest lateral moves in 2018.
Ms. Ohlhausen joined Baker Botts in December 2018 from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), where she was most recently acting Chairman and Commissioner for six years. While at the FTC she directed all aspects of the FTC's antitrust work, including merger review and conduct enforcement, and steered all FTC consumer protection enforcement, with a particular emphasis on privacy and technology issues.
Baker Botts Antitrust and Competition Practice has shown strong momentum within the past year, adding five leading competition partners, Maureen Ohlhausen, Mark Botti and Anthony Swisher in Washington, D.C., Matthew Levitt in Brussels and Peter Huston in San Francisco. Additionally, the practice promoted experienced multinational merger reviews and criminal and civil antitrust investigations lawyer, Stacey Turner to partner.
In addition to that momentum, the practice has noticed noteworthy rankings growth, as seen in the latest edition of Global Competition Review 100 (GCR 100), where the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Practice rose to 14th place globally under the leadership of Co-Chairs John Taladay, Maureen Ohlhausen and Steve Weissman in D.C. and Catriona Hatton in Brussels.
