Baker Botts and Wolters Kluwer Present Webinar on Data Privacy

Webinar will provide update on GDPR implementation and explore topics in data privacy to watch in 2019

PALO ALTO & LONDON, September 18, 2018 – Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international law firm, today announced that it is partnering with Wolters Kluwer to produce the second webinar in a series focused on international data privacy.

The webinar will be held on Wednesday, September 26 from 1 pm  to  2 pm EST. Participants will have the opportunity to earn free CLE credits by attending this live hour-long session.

Leading the discussion from the Baker Botts team are Palo Alto based Special Counsel Cynthia J. Cole, and London based Partner Neil Coulson.

“This webinar is a follow up to the session we presented in the spring that was focused on both data privacy and the implications of the new European General Data Protection Regulation. This second session provides a unique opportunity to reflect on the first four months under the new regulation and how it is impacting the way businesses operate,” said Neil Coulson.

“In addition to looking at GDPR, and how U.S. companies are implementing and reacting to it, this webinar allows us to look into 2019 and beyond and examine the quickly transforming U.S. data privacy arena,” said Ms. Cole.

Key discussion topics for the webinar will include:
GDPR in practice: How are U.S. companies adapting to GDPR, and where is the EU focusing its efforts?
European horizon: Review of the most important country-specific legislation to date; the status of the new e-privacy regulation and an update on the current position of the U.S./EU privacy shield.
U.S. patchwork: A compare and contrast of California’s CCPA to GDPR and some crystal ball gazing: how will the U.S. put the state and federal data privacy pieces together?
