Tech Savvy IP Litigator Katharine Burke Joins Baker Botts’ IP Litigation Team in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C., October 23, 2017 - Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international law firm, today announced that Katharine M. Burke is joining the firm’s Washington, D.C., office to bolster the firm’s highly active patent litigation practice, which is emerging as one of the top International Trade Commission (ITC) practices in the country.

The firm’s ITC practice is currently counsel in five active ITC investigations, and completed two ITC trials in 2017 for a global technology client in one of the industry’s most closely watched competitor disputes.

Ms. Burke’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and complex commercial litigation. She represents clients in cases involving a range of technologies including mobile telecommunications, mobile phone operating systems and applications, flash memory, network protocols, multimedia, and medical devices.

Ms. Burke graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering where she majored in Electrical Engineering and minored in Operations Research and Financial Engineering. At Princeton, she earned the Shapiro Award for academic excellence and was elected to Tau Beta Pi, Princeton’s Engineering Honor Society. Ms. Burke received her J.D. from Harvard Law School where she also contributed to the Journal of Law and Technology.
