The School is a one day course specifically designed by Baker Botts partners to professionally develop and enhance the legal knowledge of in-house counsel teams, by examining the most relevant topics and trends impacting the oil and gas sector.
“Baker Botts is committed to fostering a deeper understanding of the oil and gas industry legal fundamentals amongst our clients. We think it is vital for our highly experienced partners to inspire the leading legal minds of the next generation to learn more about the constantly evolving energy industry we work in,” said Mark Rowley, Partner In Charge of Baker Botts in London.
Attendees will take part in a practical case study exercise centred on a Transaction Scenario. This will explore the commercial buyer-seller relationships between an International Oil and Gas Company and potential buyers. Participants will gain first-hand expert coaching and hands on experience in these areas; pre-negotiation actions, drafting sale and purchase agreements, negotiating as both a buyer and seller, financing structures for upstream transactions, conducting an anti-trust review and managing merger filings and closing disputes.
The Baker Botts team will include Hamish McArdle (Partner, London), Jason Bennett (Partner and Co-Head of the Global Projects Group, Houston), James Douglass (Partner, London), Johannes Koepp (Partner, London), Paul Lugard (Partner, Brussels), Stuart McIntyre (Partner, London), Mark Rowley (Partner In Charge, London) and Rob Butler (Senior Associate, London).
