WASHINGTON, D.C., June 8, 2017 - It’s been a busy year for developments in intellectual property (IP) law as the U.S. Supreme Court took up seven IP cases this Term addressing a number of important issues, including a sea change in venue for patent cases resulting from TC Heartland. Baker Botts L.L.P. will hold a webinar, open to the media, to provide analysis of the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decisions concerning IP and patent law cases.
Panelists will examine the impact of the Court’s rulings and what the decisions mean to the big picture for companies with IP cases to defend or IP rights to manage, and risks the IP status quo faces from the cases the Court has accepted for next Term. The panel will include attorneys who filed amicus briefs in the Impression Products, Inc. v. Lexmark International, Inc. case and Matthew Kelly, Chief Intellectual Property Counsel, Managing Director, Associate General Counsel, CME Group.
The speakers will also examine other IP cases to watch in 2017, and there will be a timely discussion of the impact of new Justice Neil Gorsuch’s impact on the Court.
