Baker Botts Discusses Project Finance Trends and New Pockets of Capital at the Platts Global Power Markets Conference

Media Alert
HOUSTON, April 25, 2017 - Power industry players and Baker Botts’ partner, Carlos A. Solé III, will take part in a panel discussing the issues crucial to the development of electric power markets during the Platts 32nd Annual Global Power Markets Conference at the Wynn Las Vegas, Las Vegas, NV from April 24 -26, 2017.

The panel, “Project Finance - New Trends Defining the Market and New Pockets of Capital,” will be held on April 26th.

“As the utilities sector continues to go through a period of transformation, the cost of doing business in the power sector is on the rise. Power companies are accessing new pockets of capital to fund their projects, as opposed to traditional sources of project finance, so that they can better manage their infrastructure upgrades and smart grid technology projects and spread costs. Options such as mezzanine financing, term loan b and private placement financing are becoming an increasingly popular choice,” said Carlos A. Solé III, Co-Chair of Baker Botts’ Latin America practice and Partner in the Houston office.

Carlos A. Solé III is available to discuss the major implications for electric power companies of sourcing new pockets of capital to finance their domestic and international projects.
