Media Alert
WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 29, 2017 - The American Bar Association (ABA) Antitrust Law 2017 Spring Meeting is taking place this week in Washington, D.C., on March 27-31, 2017. Baker Botts’ Brussels-based antitrust partners Catriona Hatton and Georg Berrisch are attending the events this week, alongside the firm’s U.S. antitrust partners, and available to comment on the significant issues raised throughout the conference and potential impacts on EU policy. With the UK trigging Article 50 today for the ratification of Brexit, Ms. Hatton and Mr. Berrisch can discuss key focus areas that will be at the center of the two-year negotiations, including international trade, state aid and competition issues.

Ms. Hatton is the partner in charge of the firm’s Brussels office and co-chair of the firm’s antitrust practice. She presented this week at the Georgetown Law’s International Antitrust Symposium on Monday, March 27, 2017, participating on the “Multijurisdictional Merger Control” panel. This symposium is organized by the Georgetown Antitrust and Competition Law Student Association and features a distinguished group of international participants each year.

Also attending the Spring Meeting in D.C., is Brussels-based Baker Botts antitrust Partner Georg Berrisch. He is a highly-regarded litigator with years of experience representing matters before the Court of Justice and the General Court of the EU, and is well-known for developing effective legal and political strategies in complex contentious proceedings before the European Commission and other EU institutions, in areas such as competition, state aid and trade.
