WASHINGTON, D.C., February 22, 2017 - The International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Legal Symposium 2017 is taking place this week on February 21-23, 2017 in Washington, D.C. Known as the “world’s principal aviation law conference,” the symposium serves as a platform for the airline industry’s legal experts to examine the contemporary and legal challenges facing the sector.
John Taladay, Baker Botts partner and co-chair of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Law practice, will moderate the panel “Antitrust and the Aviation Value Chain” today, February 22, 2017, discussing whether competition law can or should be used by airlines to ensure greater fairness among suppliers of products and services.
Also attending the IATA Symposium this year is Brussels-based Baker Botts Antitrust Partner Georg M. Berrisch, a well-known litigator with years of experience representing aviation matters before the Court of Justice and the General Court of the EU.
Mr. Taladay and Mr. Berrisch will be available to comment on the significant issues raised during the symposium as well as industry insights offered by the airline counsel, private practitioners and government lawyers attending.
