“While 2015 did not match the levels of 2014, we did see a significant number of major deals throughout the year totaling close to $100 billion,” said David Kirkland, Co-Chair of Baker Botts’ Corporate department. “While energy deals continued to dominate the agenda, we also saw movement in other sectors such as technology, life sciences and chemicals. We expect this trend to continue as we move into 2016,” added Kelly Rose, Partner in the firm’s Houston office and Co-Chair of Baker Botts Corporate department.
Notable transactions from the second half of the year include:
• Schlumberger Limited – pending $14.8 billion acquisition of Cameron International Corporation. Houston partners David Kirkland and Tull Florey lead the transaction.
