HOUSTON, November 3, 2014 -- Baker Botts, a leading international business law firm, announced today that in the current edition of U.S. News/Best Lawyers, the firm has earned “2015 Law Firm of the Year” recognition for its Natural Resources Law practice.
The results are available online and will be published in the US News & World Report issue scheduled to hit newsstands in mid- to late November.
Last year, Baker Botts earned “Best Law Firm” status for its Oil & Gas and Administrative/Regulatory Practices.
In addition to recognition as a “Law Firm of the Year,” Baker Botts’ practice areas earned 27 National Tier 1 rankings this year, compared to 26 listings last year. Additionally, 104 practice areas -- covering all of the firm’s domestic offices -- earned Metro Tier 1 status this year.
The U.S. News/Best Lawyers awards were given in 74 national practice areas and 120 metropolitan practice areas. One “Law Firm of the Year” is named in each of the 73 nationally ranked practice areas.
“Law Firm of the Year” status is awarded to firms with the highest overall score based on the publications’ research for each practice area. The rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from leading attorneys in their field, and review of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process.
