WASHINGTON, October 6, 2014 -- On October 6, 2014, Transmission Developers, Inc., a Blackstone portfolio company, received a Presidential Permit from the U.S. Department of Energy for the Champlain Hudson Power Express Project (“Champlain Hudson”). Champlain Hudson is a buried 1,000 MW 333-mile High Voltage Direct Current transmission line that will interconnect Quebec, Canada and New York City. A Presidential Permit is required for the construction, operation, maintenance, or connection of electric transmission facilities at the international border.
