Liberty Media’s Change of Ownership in Barnes & Noble Led by Baker Botts



NEW YORK, April 4, 2014 ? On April 2, Baker Botts client Liberty Media Corporation (“Liberty”) announced an agreement in which Liberty will reduce its stake in Barnes & Noble, retaining approximately 10 percent of its initial investment. The sale is expected to settle on Tuesday, April 8.

The Baker Botts team (all based in New York) included Renee Wilm (Partner), Brendan Dignan (Associate) and Brittany Uthoff (Associate).

Baker Botts previously represented Liberty, a long-time client of the firm, in its proposed takeover bid for Barnes & Noble as well as the subsequent 2011 investment.
