Baker Botts Names 13 New Partners Effective January 1, 2014

HOUSTON, December 2, 2013 -- Baker Botts L.L.P. today promoted 13 lawyers to partnership status effective January 1, 2014, as the firm begins its 174th year of operations.

Ryan Bangert -- Litigation, Dallas
Mr. Bangert focuses on complex business litigation and appeals. He has represented a diverse range of clients in cases involving consumer fraud, breach of contract, intellectual property and general business torts.

Neil Coulson -- Intellectual Property, London
Mr. Coulson has a broad-based intellectual property practice covering all aspects of intellectual property dispute resolution and the exploitation of intellectual property rights, including advising protection strategies and the full range of commercial agreements.

Mollie Duckworth -- Corporate, Austin
Ms. Duckworth represents both public and private companies in connection with M&A transactions, and represents issuers and investment banking firms in public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities.

A.J. Ericksen -- Corporate, Houston
Mr. Ericksen represents public and private businesses in a broad range of corporate and securities matters. He represents public and private companies in connection with M&A transactions, and issuers and investment banking firms in both equity and debt offerings.

Joseph Gray -- Intellectual Property, Austin
Mr. Gray has broad experience in intellectual property matters, with an emphasis on patent litigation. He has assisted in the representation of clients in a variety of technological fields, such as wireless communication, computer software and electronic payment processing.

Josh Mandell -- Tax, Dallas
Mr. Mandell’s practice focuses on federal income tax planning and controversy matters. He regularly counsels clients on a variety of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, financings, debt and equity offerings and debt restructurings.

Chad McCormick -- Tax, Houston
Mr. McCormick advises clients on tax-efficient structures for domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and separations. He also advises clients on tax aspects of capital markets transactions, credit agreements and matters regarding S corporations and partnerships.

Brooke McNabb -- Litigation, Houston
Ms. McNabb represents plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of complex civil litigation matters in state and federal courts. Her practice concentrates on energy litigation, commercial disputes, and personal injury litigation.

Jason Newman -- Litigation, Houston
Mr. Newman represents clients in a broad range of matters, including energy litigation, regulatory and administrative proceedings, commercial disputes and personal injury litigation. He also handles a wide range of matters involving indemnity, insurance and contractual disputes.

Christa Brown-Sanford -- Intellectual Property, Dallas
Ms. Sanford has a varied intellectual property practice with a focus on patent procurement, patent litigation, and technology licensing, particularly involving telecommunications, electronics and other cutting-edge technologies.

Anthony Speier -- Global Projects, Houston
Mr. Speier’s practice focuses on mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, including the sale of oil and gas properties, midstream assets, crude oil refineries and business units and subsidiaries of energy companies.

Jon Swenson -- Intellectual Property, Palo Alto
Mr. Swenson represents clients in complex intellectual property disputes relating to patent, copyright and trade secret issues. His practice is focused on resolving difficult and high profile patent disputes in a variety of technology areas.

Evan Young -- Litigation, Austin
Mr. Young’s practice focuses on trial and appellate litigation. He has argued cases before both the Supreme Court of the United States and the Supreme Court of Texas. He has represented clients across the country before every level of the state and federal judiciary.
