Global Competition Review: Baker Botts’ Antitrust Team “Highly Recommended”

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 13, 2013 -- Baker Botts’ antitrust practice continues to earn high marks from Global Competition Review in that publication’s latest review of Washington, D.C.-based antitrust teams. In an article titled “Washington, D.C.’s Antitrust Bar,” the firm’s antitrust practice was recognized as “highly recommended,” by GCR editors.

The article highlights Washington firms with strong antitrust practices, and provides snapshots of notable cases, key individuals and clients from the past year.

GCR editors discussed the Baker Botts’ on boarding of the large Howrey antitrust group, including Who’s Who Legal nominees John Taladay, Sean Boland and James Rill. They noted “The firm continues to foster strong links to the energy sector, last year advising National Oilwell Varco in its US$2.5 billion acquisition of Robbins & Myers, which the DoJ cleared after a second request.”

Editors also recognized that “The team also has strong international experience; with partner Charles Webb acting for a company implicated in Saudi Arabia’s first antitrust investigation.”
