Baker Botts L.L.P. is pleased to announce that J. Thomas Eubank will be honored for his commitment to Texas probate and trust law. Mr. Eubank is the recipient of the Distinguished Probate Lawyer Lifetime Achievement Award.
Each year, the State Bar of Texas Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section (REPTL) recognizes a distinguished Texas probate attorney who has made significant contributions to the estate planning field, on both a state and national level.
Mr. Eubank began his career at Baker Botts in 1954. For 25 years, he served as the head of the Business and Estate Planning department. Mr. Eubank also served as a member of the firm’s executive committee. He continues to practice at Baker Botts as Senior Counsel in what is now the Private Clients Section of the firm’s Tax department.
‘Tom Eubank has been a pioneer in today’s approaches to wealth transfer planning and has also played a major role in providing private sector input in legislation in the area,’ said Ben Wells, chair of the Tax department at Baker Botts. ‘This award is richly deserved.’
Outside of his law practice, Mr. Eubank has served as Chair of the State Bar REPTL Section; Chair of the American Bar Association Real Property, Probate and Trust Law (RPPTL) Section; President of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC); and President of the ACTEC Foundation.
