The third annual Baker Botts Board of Directors Forum will take place on Thursday, January 16th at The Post Oak Hotel in Houston, Texas. This half day event, in a series of panel discussions and “fireside chats” led by board members, corporate professionals, advisors, and our attorneys, will address hot topics and critical issues affecting Boards and Corporate Directors in 2020. These presentations will include the “inside scoop” on a board's oversight function and duties; a lightning round session on the perspectives of the Business Roundtable's recent statement on the purpose of a corporation; a discussion of the role of special committees in board deliberations; expert insights on the continuing evolution of the audit and its impact; an exchange of views on liability management and related leadership issues in a market downturn; and a fireside chat regarding recent developments in the antitrust and data privacy arenas.
