The Supreme Court Term coming to an end in June has been another busy year for developments in intellectual property law. All told, the Supreme Court took up three IP cases this Term addressing several important issues, including the constitutionality of inter partes reviews (IPRs) in Oil States.
What is the impact of these decisions and what do they all mean to the big picture for companies with IP cases to defend or IP rights to manage? What has been the impact on IPRs since Oil States and SAS were decided? What are the cases and issues the Court could take up next Term?
With the current Term nearing its conclusion, our panel of former Supreme Court and Federal Circuit clerks will take a hard look at Supreme Court IP decisions. On June 28th we will also examine other IP cases to watch in 2018, and the impact of Justice Neil Gorsuch’s first year on the Court.
Our speakers will include:
Michael Hawes, Partner, Baker Botts L.L.P.
Aaron Streett, Partner, Baker Botts L.L.P.
Jennifer Nall, Partner, Baker Botts L.L.P.
