Global Competition Review Women in Antitrust

Washington

Baker Botts is a proud sponsor of the inaugural Global Competition Review Women in Antitrust conference in Washington, DC on November 9th.  The event is being held in association with the Women’s Competition Network (WCN) and will focus on women in the antitrust sphere and feature women speakers. Catriona Hatton, Baker Botts Partner and Co-Chair of the Antitrust Group, served on the Steering and Planning Committee and will moderate the panel, Global competition regimes: diverging or converging?

Panel Description:
In the US, Trump's seeming aim of dismantling the administrative state is in full swing, whereas in the EU, enforcement is if anything broadening - and post-Brexit, one can arguably expect even heavier regulation from the EU27. With this seeming tension between the two major regulatory approaches to competition law, what is the future for convergence and cooperation between the world's authorities? Where should agencies and counsel from developing economies look for leadership when different approaches emerge?

Moderator:
Catriona Hatton, Baker Botts, Brussels

Panel:
Renata Hesse, Sullivan & Cromwell, Washington DC
Bojana Ignjatovic, RBB Economics, London
Aimee Imundo, General Electric, Washington, DC
Cristianne Saccab Zarzur, Pinheiro Neto, São Paulo
