The Supreme Court Term coming to an end in June has been another busy year for developments in intellectual property law. All told, the Supreme Court took up seven IP cases this Term addressing a number of important issues, including a sea change in venue for patent cases resulting from TC Heartland.
What is the impact of these decisions and what do they all mean to the big picture for companies with IP cases to defend or IP rights to manage? What risks does the IP status quo face from the cases the Court has accepted for next Term?
With the current Term freshly concluded, we will take a hard look at Supreme Court IP decisions. Our panel will include attorneys who filed amicus briefs in the Impression Products, Inc. v. Lexmark International, Inc. case. The speakers will also examine other IP cases to watch in 2017, and there will be a timely discussion of the impact of new Justice Neil Gorsuch’s impact on the Court.
Our speakers will include:
- Michael Hawes, Partner, Baker Botts L.L.P.
- Aaron Streett, Partner, Baker Botts L.L.P.
- Jennifer Nall, Senior Associate, Baker Botts L.L.P.
- Matthew Kelly, Chief Intellectual Property Counsel, Managing Director, Associate General Counsel, CME Group
