Due Process: What the Fuss is All About

Washington

On June 27, 2016, John Taladay will serve as moderator of "Due Process: What the Fuss is All About" at Baker Botts' Washington, DC office.  Panelists will include Commissioner Maureen Ohlhausen (Federal Trade Commission, Washington, DC), The Honorable Douglas H. Ginsburg (U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, Washington, DC), and Alvaro Ramos (Head of Global Antitrust, Qualcomm, San Diego, CA). The program will address that as more competition agencies are looking across borders to conduct investigations of foreign companies, questions of procedural fairness, due process and transparency have come to the center of a debate about what should be considered “fair play.” It will dig in to some of the key issues and scope of rights, such as notice of an investigation, underlying facts and theories, access to evidence and confidentiality, and the opportunity to be heard by the decision maker.
