A panel at Dubai Arbitration Week in November discussed the results of a recent Baker Botts survey on applications to annul investment arbitration awards – and whether the findings demonstrated the need to reform the ICSID annulment system. During the session, Partner Johannes Koepp and Associate Jack Biggs presented the preliminary findings of the firm’s forthcoming comparative study on annulment proceedings – a sequel to the 2021 study on ICSID annulment that the firm published together with the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL). Following the presentation of the preliminary findings from the study, Partner David Turner moderated a panel discussing whether the ICSID annulment system is in need of reform.
