Baker Botts’ Black/African American Affinity Group is a safe space for the firm's Black attorneys and their allies to connect, share, and build relationships across the firm and beyond. Ensuring that all attorneys, including those from under represented groups, have access to the firm's resources, business development opportunities, and leadership positions is central to the work of this affinity group.
The membership of the Black/African American Affinity Group includes those in senior firm leadership roles as well as junior and summer associates. This multi-generational group offers a glimpse to junior associates of what is possible for them at Baker Botts while also providing a community with whom they can share both concerns and triumphs. Our more senior attorneys are similarly engaged because they have an opportunity to share their experiences, learn about the issues facing junior associates, and be a part of the solution as we work to improve retention of Black attorneys within the legal profession.
