Jeffrey Wettengel is a litigator whose practice focuses on representing clients in litigation and government enforcement actions arising under federal and state environmental laws. He is particularly experienced with CERCLA litigation, RCRA disputes, citizen suits, and natural resource damage claims. He also has experience with multidistrict litigations, defending against putative class actions, and challenging federal agency action under the APA. He closely tracks numerous emerging areas of environmental regulation and litigation, including on the subjects of PFAS and microplastics.
In his general litigation practice, he has a wide variety of experience with complex litigations, including matters arising under federal antitrust laws and class actions arising under the Medicare Secondary Payer Act.
Jeff also is a member of the firm's incident and crisis response team. His experience in this area includes counseling clients on navigating federal and state agency investigations, conducting privileged internal investigations, and conducting root cause analyses.
