Overview

Melissa Muenks helps clients navigate intellectual property disputes through all stages of trial and appellate proceedings. Melissa litigates cases involving a range of patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and other complex commercial claims, on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants, and in state and federal court. Her litigation experience includes both competitor and non-competitor suits, and spans all phases of the litigation, from pre-suit investigation and early case strategy through jury trial and appeal. Melissa also challenges patents in inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the PTAB.

Melissa's pro bono docket includes representing veterans in appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

Before joining Baker Botts, Melissa served as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael H. Schneider and the Honorable K. Nicole Mitchell in the U.S. District for the Eastern District of Texas.
