Overview

Matt Gurch is a partner in Baker Botts' Global Projects practice and a member of the firm's Energy Industry Group. Matt is an experienced project development and finance attorney, advising and representing public and private entities in domestic and international project finance, energy, and infrastructure projects. He has extensive experience related to project development documentation, private equity, tax equity, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions in a variety of industries, including renewable and alternative energy, conventional power, oil and gas, mining, and infrastructure.

  • Representation of sponsors in the development and financing of an innovative solar energy, battery storage and microgrid facility on domestic tribal territory.
  • Representation of an international consortium of sellers with respect to the acquisition of a portfolio of 75 MW of renewable energy assets.
  • Representation of an infrastructure fund in the acquisition of 920 MW of solar and wind power projects, including subsequent restructuring.
  • Representation of an international consortium of sponsors in the acquisition financing of the largest pure-play district energy platform in North America.
  • Representation of a leading European institutional investor in connection with the acquisition of a 50% joint venture of over 600 MW of renewable energy assets.
