Samir’s background as a Chief IP Counsel along with his extensive technology experience enable him to develop valuable patent portfolios and win critical litigation disputes. Throughout his career, Samir has handled many patent litigations across the country, including in the California and Texas district courts. During just the last decade, he has worked on a wide range of cutting-edge technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), autonomous vehicles, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), cybersecurity, IoT, FinTech, medical devices, and many more. Clients also rely on him to draft and negotiate patent, software, and other agreements directed to inbound and outbound licensing and the ownership of technology assets. Samir’s ability to quickly immerse himself in new technologies and balance regulatory and litigation risk led to his practice expanding into data privacy. With certifications as an Information Privacy Professional for both the U.S. (CIPP/US) and Europe (CIPP/E) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals, Samir offers strategic guidance and counseling on complex data protection laws. He advises clients on privacy issues involving M&A transactions and wiretapping, and offers proactive strategies to mitigate litigation risk including data privacy review. He is a recognized thought leader in the space, with content on AI governance, creating sustainable cookie programs, and the latest trends and updates in privacy litigation.

Beyond his professional achievements, Samir is committed to diversity and mentorship. He has served on numerous Boards and Steering Committees for diversity organizations, including the Dallas Bar Association, NAPABA, and the Texas Minority Counsel Program.
