Summary

Walt Smith is the former managing partner of Baker Botts, a position he held from January 2003 - March 2012. Mr. Smith continues to provide firm management support to his successor, Andrew Baker. Prior to becoming managing partner, Mr. Smith’s practice focused primarily on public offerings, specialized securities transactions, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital investments.

Following graduation from law school, Mr. Smith served as a law clerk to the Honorable E.A. Tamm of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
