Margaret Welsh

Margaret (Maggie) Welsh co-chairs the Artificial Intelligence Practice Team at Baker Botts. She helps companies evaluate and protect their intellectual property, and manage their legal risks in the evolving tech sector. Her work spans patent litigation, patent prosecution, due diligence, and opinion counseling.

Drawing from her experience, Maggie is able to quickly identify underlying issues and provide thoughtful and thorough advocacy for her clients. Maggie sees the landscape of potential risks and provides her clients with tactics to address them.

Maggie understands her clients. Her background includes consulting with companies on strategic and technical improvements for their products. With an engineering background and industry knowledge, Maggie immerses herself in emerging technologies such as robotics, clean technology, batteries, energy, electronics, semiconductors, and biomedical devices.

Maggie is currently serving as the Firmwide head of Women In Action.
