Macey Reasoner Stokes heads the firm's Appellate section, which U.S. News & World Report ranked Tier One in the National, Austin, Dallas and Houston categories in its 2017 edition of Best Lawyers in America. She also serves as Immediate Past President of the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society and Secretary of the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit. She has over 20 years' experience in a wide variety of civil appeals and extraordinary proceedings in state and federal courts. Ms. Stokes has handled over 60 cases in the Texas Supreme Court and frequently argues before that court. She also has significant experience handling Texas regulatory appeals.
Ms. Stokes was named to Super Lawyers’ Top 50 Women and Top 100 Houston lists for 2017 and 2016, Texas Lawyer's triennial "Winning Women" list in 2014, and Benchmark Litigation's Top 250 Women in Litigation in America list for 2013-2016.
Ms. Stokes has been Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1998. She served as a briefing attorney to Chief Justice Thomas R. Phillips of the Supreme Court of Texas from 1993 to 1994.
