Lucas Pitts is a partner in the Dubai office, advising on disputes in a wide variety of jurisdictions throughout the Middle East, Africa and Europe, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, UAE, Uganda, Rwanda, Mauritius, Italy and Switzerland. Mr. Pitts is a trusted adviser for clients operating in a number of areas including telecommunications, banking, financial services, and aviation. Mr. Pitts acts for clients on cases involving fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, insolvency, breach of contract, misrepresentation, professional negligence, and white collar crime. Many of the cases involved complex cross-border and conflict of laws issues.
Mr. Pitts advises on cases proceeding under the Civil Procedure Rules of the English Court as well as under the ICC, LCIA, GCC Commercial Centre, DIAC arbitrations, and BCDR rules. He is also able to advise on arbitrations proceeding under The 1996 Arbitration Act and the Oman Arbitration Act.
Mr. Pitts manages many different disputes including cases before the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of England and Wales; the Bahrain Centre for Dispute Resolution, the SAMA Committee and Committee for the Resolution of Securities Disputes in Saudi Arabia and the Commercial Court in Mauritius.
