Dr. Martin Menski is Special Counsel in the Global Projects Group based in the Washington office. He has advised on the development and financing of some of the world's market-leading, award-winning projects in the power (including thermal and renewable energy), oil and gas, LNG, mining and infrastructure sectors, including public-private partnerships in emerging markets, especially Africa and Latin America.
Martin has worked for and across from sponsors, developers, private equity firms, funds, commercial lenders, multilaterals, development banks and export credit agencies.
Martin has also developed financing solutions for clients, such as the "B-Bond" of IDB Invest (formerly the Inter-American Development Bank), a product that enables the mobilization of funding from bond investors under IDB's protective umbrella for projects in the Latin American and Caribbean markets.
Prior to Baker Botts, Martin practiced in the London, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid and D.C. offices of a Magic Circle international law firm, and as legal counsel at Standard Chartered Bank in London. Martin is fluent in German, Portuguese, French and Hindi and is proficient in Spanish.
