Sofia Doudountsaki is an associate in the Antitrust and Competition practice of Baker Botts’ Brussels office. Sofia advises on all aspects of EU law and competition, with extensive experience in EU merger control, EU cartel investigations and State aid. She also has substantive litigation experience before the EU jurisdictions.
Prior to joining Baker Botts, Sofia worked in the Brussels office of another international law firm. She was a member of the team that represented ALSTOM in its acquisition by General Electric, focusing on the filings before the European Commission. In addition, Sofia worked on a cartel investigation in the vehicles shipping sector which involved parallel investigations in multiple jurisdictions and she has been advising several companies on State aid aspects.
Sofia has also worked as a Law Clerk (“Référendaire”) in the Cabinet of Judge E. Levits at the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg, advising on substantive and procedural points of EU law and providing preliminary drafts on appeals, preliminary rulings and direct actions in the fields of State aid, tax law, capital movements, regional development and EU liability.
She speaks English, French and Greek.
