Nischay Bhan is a trusted advocate for clients across a broad range of complex civil litigation and arbitration matters.
Nish has first-hand experience litigating high-stakes matters spanning numerous areas and industries, including construction litigation, energy litigation, trade secret litigation, multi-district litigations, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, and related appellate matters. He has been the lead litigation associate in trials and contested hearings for matters featuring an aggregate amount at stake in excess of $1 billion. Nish has substantial experience managing the entire life cycle of a case - from pleadings to judgment. He has taken and defended dozens of depositions, argued and drafted key motions, and prepared or examined key fact and expert witnesses in trials and hearings. In addition to his trial work, Nish also has significant experience in appellate matters and has argued as lead counsel in cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
While he is most comfortable in the courtroom, Nish's skilled advocacy has helped clients receive favorable results across all stages of dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration, and motion practice.
Nish also maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on immigration and constitutional matters. He annually presents on deportation defense at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, his alma mater.
During law school, Nish was an associate editor on the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Business Law and an active member of Penn Law Mock Trial (PLMTA), South Asian Law Student's Association (SALSA), and University of Pennsylvania Animal Law Project. Prior to joining Baker Botts, Nish served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Ravi K. Sandill of the 127th District Court in Harris County, Texas.
