Summary

Omar Alaniz represents debtors and creditors in all aspects of complex chapter 11 reorganizations and liquidations.

Mr. Alaniz served as a law clerk to the Honorable D. Michael Lynn of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. He is an adjunct faculty member at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, where has taught Creditors’ Rights and the Chapter 11 Course. He also serves as the coach for the Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Team. He is also a frequent speaker and member of various planning committees for bankruptcy continuing legal education programs.

Mr. Alaniz was recently named the “National Outstanding Young Lawyer” by the American Bar Association, the “Outstanding Young Lawyer of Texas” by the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the “Outstanding Young Lawyer of Dallas” by the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and the “Outstanding Young Bankruptcy Lawyer of Texas” by the Bankruptcy Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
