The Dallas office opened in 1985 with 10 lawyers and has grown to more than 170 lawyers. The Dallas office provides legal services to public entities, Fortune 500 companies and many other major clients throughout the world.

Located in Trammell Crow Center, the heart of one of the most vibrant economic areas in the country, the Dallas office is situated within a 17-block area of downtown known as the Dallas Arts District. The Dallas Museum of Art and the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center anchor the 61-acre neighborhood that includes distinctively modern as well as historic architecture. Baker Botts Dallas is the recipient of the United Way's Pacesetter Award for an Outstanding Major Gifts Campaign; the Dallas Independent School District's Outstanding Business Partner Award; and the Volunteer Group of the Year Award from Stewpot Community Services, an outreach program for the homeless.

Since 1991, the Dallas office has sponsored the Most Patentable Invention Award, which is given to a student inventor during the annual Richardson Independent School District's Invention Convention. In addition, Baker Botts has partnered with Julius Dorsey Elementary School since 1992, providing support for tutoring programs, Reading is FUNdamental book distributions, a learning garden, a pen pal program, the Dorsey Holiday Party, a Law Day Field Trip to the Federal Courthouse, the Science Fair Program, a Send Dorsey Scholars to Summer Camp program, a College Initiative, a Mother's Day Art Project and the traditional Girl Scout Cookie Sale.
