Baker Botts continues to deepen its litigation team with the promotion of three partners: Dorine Farah, Stacy Turner and Paulina Williams. Each has a deep commitment to exceptional client service, and exemplifies our core values of professional excellence, teamwork and collegiality, integrity and service to the communities in which they live and work.
They join new lateral partners Maureen Ohlhausen, the former Acting Chair of the Federal Trade Commission; Scott Keller, the former Texas Solicitor General who has argued 11 times before the U.S. Supreme Court; Peter Huston, who has 25 years of experience in the antitrust, complex commercial, white collar and high stakes criminal and civil litigation arena; Matthew Levitt, who is recognized as one of the leading competition lawyers in Europe by Chambers; Mark Botti, who previously served as Chief of the Litigation I Section for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division; and Anthony Swisher, who has extensive experience representing clients in connection with government antitrust investigations of mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. In addition to these partners, 14 of our new associates completed high-profile judicial clerkships.
These additions deepen the firm’s already impressive litigation bench across the globe and are working to advance our clients' business objectives in the courtroom and beyond.
Ms. Farah focuses on international arbitration including commercial and investment-treaty arbitration.
She has acted as counsel in both institutional and ad hoc arbitrations (including under the ICSID, ICC, LCIA and UNCITRAL rules). She also teaches regularly on international arbitration topics and is the co-author of a chapter on Arbitration in London: Features of the London Court of International Arbitration.
Ms. Turner is an antitrust lawyer including on both multinational mergers and criminal and civil antitrust investigations.
She has defended U.S. and foreign corporations and individuals in grand jury investigations involving allegations of price fixing, bid rigging and market allocation. In criminal investigations, she has assisted clients with a range of cartel defense strategies, including obtaining leniency status and designation as a cooperating witness.
Ms. Williams is an environmental lawyer and recognized leader in water law. Paulina's experience spans water quality, water rights, waste, air and natural resources issues. She has worked extensively on environmental permitting, including contested case hearings, cross-agency consultations and permit defense in state and federal court actions.
Baker Botts' trial lawyers have tried some of the most high-stakes, complex, and cutting-edge cases across the United States and around the globe. Our success on behalf of clients has not gone unnoticed with 44 practice rankings in the Chambers and The Legal 500 guides.
