Biographical information

Harper Batts - Intellectual Property, Palo Alto 

Mr. Batts has more than a decade of experience as an intellectual property litigator and client counselor. He has represented numerous Fortune 50 clients in highly contentious patent litigation disputes in many different venues, including Texas, Delaware, California, New Jersey, Wisconsin, North Carolina and the Federal Circuit. His experience includes leading several large joint defense groups in complex cases involving numerous patents and product lines.

Heather Souder Choi - Litigation, Washington 

Ms. Choi handles complex commercial and criminal disputes for clients across a broad range of industries. Her practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, antitrust litigation and corporate internal investigations. She has represented corporations and individuals in federal grand jury investigations, FTC investigations, SEC enforcement actions, Justice Department investigations and complex civil litigation. Her criminal defense experience includes the areas of fraud, antitrust and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Ms. Choi’s civil litigation experience includes contract disputes, employment discrimination and class actions.


Rachael L. Lichman - Corporate, Houston 

Ms. Lichman represents borrowers and issuers, financial institutions, agent banks, underwriters and other institutional investors in connection with secured and unsecured bank financings, including acquisition financings, senior and subordinated debt, working capital credit facilities, bridge loans, asset-based financings and term loans, as well as with secured and unsecured high-yield debt offerings, private placements of securities and other forms of debt financing.


Jon Lobb - Tax, Houston

Mr. Lobb focuses on U.S. federal income tax matters. His practice includes cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions, liquefied natural gas and other domestic and international energy projects, securities offerings and tax controversy/litigation.

Jeremy Moore - Corporate, Houston

Mr. Moore’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private placements of debt and equity securities, private equity investments and general corporate matters. Mr. Moore also advises clients on securities compliance issues, including Exchange Act reporting.

Clint Rancher - Corporate, Houston

Mr. Rancher represents public and private businesses in a broad range of corporate and securities matters. He represents issuers and investment banking firms in both equity and debt offerings, including Rule 144-A offerings. His practice also includes mergers and acquisitions and general corporate concerns, including Exchange Act reporting and corporate governance.

Jennifer C. Tempesta - Intellectual Property, New York

Ms. Tempesta’s practice focuses on patent litigation. She has significant experience with all phases of litigation, including discovery, Markman hearings, summary judgment, trial and appeals. Ms. Tempesta is well-versed in appellate practice and has argued at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Ms. Tempesta also handles post-grant proceedings, patent prosecution, opinions and client counseling. 

Gregory S. Wagner - Global Projects, Washington

Mr. Wagner represents and advises clients in the oil, natural gas and electricity industries in regulatory, litigation and transactional matters. He represents oil and natural gas shippers and pipeline owners, gas marketers, electric utilities and power marketers before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, state regulatory commissions and the United States Courts of Appeals.
