New Special Counsel for 2012 Named at Baker Botts L.L.P.

HOUSTON, December 28, 2011 -- New Special Counsel at Baker Botts L.L.P. were announced today by Managing Partner Walt Smith. The appointments will take effect January 1, 2012. The lawyers are based in the firm’s Austin, Dallas, Houston, New York and Washington offices.

“Today’s announcement is in recognition of the skilled legal counsel these lawyers provide our clients each day on a broad spectrum of issues,” Smith said.

The new Special Counsel are:

Austin
Michelle LeCointe, Intellectual Property
Michelle LeCointe’s practice centers on litigation, opinions, patent procurement and licensing in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, bioagriculture, electrochemical and chemical fields. Her practice involves all aspects of intellectual property law.

Dallas
Rachel Donnelly, Global Projects
Rachel Donnelly’s practice focuses on all aspects of the acquisition, disposition, financing and leasing of commercial real estate, including the negotiation of joint venture agreements, property management agreements and development agreements.

Houston
Brad Bowling, Intellectual Property
Brad Bowling practices in all areas of intellectual property law, including patent prosecution, patent litigation and patent opinion preparation. He prepares and prosecutes patent applications over a broad range of technologies relating to software, electronics and oil fields tools.

New York
Charles Kim, Intellectual Property
Charles Kim’s practice focuses on patent litigation, patent prosecution, IP risk management, IP portfolio management, licensing and client counseling. He has successfully argued before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences at the USPTO. He has also practiced before the United States International Trade Commission.

Washington 
Greg Wagner, Global Projects
Greg Wagner represents natural gas pipelines, gas marketers, oil pipeline shippers, electric utilities and power marketers before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the United States Courts of Appeals. He assists natural gas pipelines and marketers in complying with FERC regulations and requirements, including the Standards of Conduct.
