Concentration Litigation and appellate work involving products liability, professional liability, insurance disputes and intellectual property rights Summary Joe Knight is the partner in charge of the Austin office. He focuses on civil litigation in both trial and appellate courts, including cases involving professional liability, products liability, consumer law and intellectual property. Among the clients he represents are accounting firms, manufacturers, insurers,and technology companies. Mr. Knight began his legal career by serving as a briefing attorney for the Honorable Thomas R. Phillips, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Texas. Representative Engagements - National accounting firms – numerous matters in state court, federal court, and various regulatory bodies
- Farmers Insurance Group – successful appeal of a $32 million judgment in a highly publicized mold case
- Dow Chemical Company – successful Texas Supreme Court appeal limiting the landowner's duty to an employee of an independent contractor
- Dow Chemical Company – reversal of an unfavorable appellate decision in an employment case
- Ford Motor Company – numerous cases, including a new trial in an appeal of a $40 million products liability judgment; reversal of a sanctions order; affirmance of successful summary judgments
