In the 1990s, Baker Botts identified the Republic of Korea (ROK) as a priority market, based on our assessment that the ROK would rebound from the Asia financial crisis quickly and robustly and because we recognised the need for legal services arising from the change in the national government beginning with the election of President Kim Dae Jung.
