Associate Director Knowledge Services
|
The position is responsible for the comprehensive management and support of the firm’s knowledge management initiatives and information resources. The position provides leadership in the areas of intranet content, design and usability, connectivity with information resources, and library operations and services. The position leads organization-wide sharing of key information and intellectual capital. Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Firm Intranet/Knowledge Management Initiatives
- Library Operations, Systems and Facilities
- Key Vendor Relationships and Contract Administration
- Staff Management, Leadership and Development
- Marketing/Education in reference to Library Knowledge Management Resources
Required Skills for the position:
- Masters Degree in Library or Information Science from an accredited school and minimum 5 years experience in law firm library management
- Familiarity with key firm business processes including accounting/finance, business development, client relations, human resources, new business intake and risk management
- Basic understanding of the legal services provided by and the information needs of the firm’s practice departments
- Experience and demonstrated ability to perform various management tasks involved in supervising and developing a small to medium-sized staff
- Strong understanding of database concepts and web technology. High degree of aptitude for learning new software and database applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong presentation skills
- Strong organizational and resource management skills. Ability to effectively prioritize workload and handle pressure, interruptions, multiple projects, and extended hours when necessary

Human Resources Assistant
|
The Firmwide Human Resources Department located in the Houston office is seeking an entry level Human Resources Assistant to assist in the coordination, collection, verification, and maintenance of all employee records and information entered in the Firm’s H.R. system, including new hires, terminations, employee status changes, and any other updates necessary to maintain compliance with all Firm policies, legal requirements, and operating standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily audits of all entries made by each office into the firm’s Human Resources System to verify that all are handled properly and in a timely fashion according to Firm policies and procedures
- Enter personal information, emergency contact information, and citizenship information and verify that all necessary paperwork has been received
- Verify new hire I-9 information to ensure that all employees are eligible to legally work in the United States, including tracking VISA/Alien documentation, monitoring expiration dates, and requesting updated documentation when necessary
- Create, organize, and maintain files for all employees verifying that all information is accurate, current, and complete by preparing and sending new hire validation reports to new employees while maintaining strict confidentiality of all employee records and information
- Analyze specified employee data to generate ad hoc reports as required
- Research and verify any new information which needs to be tracked in PeopleSoft
- Assist in conducting background checks on prospective employees
- Assist in filing workers compensation claims for all U.S. offices in a timely manner
- Prepare and submit State New Hire reports
- Assist administrators as directed, i.e. validating reports, updating procedures, etc.
- Perform all other functions and duties as assigned by the Firmwide Human Resources Coordinator and the Administration of the Firm

IT Service Desk Supervisor - Houston Office
|
The Houston office IT Department seeks a Service Desk Supervisor who will be responsible for supervising the HelpDesk staff, while also providing first level support to all in the Houston office. This is a working supervisor position. Responsibilities include
Supervision:
- Supervising, organizing and coordinating work flow among Service Desk analysts
- Supervising all Service Desk operations including identification, prioritization, and resolution of end user requests, including the monitoring, tracking, and coordination of Service Desk functions
- Monitoring staff activities and problem solving techniques to ensure end users are receiving the appropriate assistance
- Overseeing the escalation of incidents to other groups within the organization
- Ensuring adherence to department processes and procedures
- Generating and analyzing reports and communicating results to Service Desk Manager
- Monitoring attendance and coordinating time off requests
- Providing input to employee performance evaluations with the IT Service Desk Manager
Support
- Provides telephone and email support to users regarding firm supported software and hardware
- Works with end-users in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software and basic network support issues
- Routinely checks department voicemails and emails and returns calls in a timely manner
- Cooperates with other team members within the Service Desk and other groups within the organization to resolve support issues
- Maintains call logs and solutions in call tracking database by recording service tickets and taking ownership of incident until full resolution, including follow up with callers to confirm a satisfactory and complete resolution
- Participates in rotation of coverage for after-hours support on evenings and weekends
- Assists Trainers with providing one-on-one training for specific topics as needed
Miscellaneous:
- Maintains daily audio visual requests through MRM reservation system
- Tests/evaluates enhancements to current applications or new applications prior to release
- Participates in pilot testing of new software
- Assists Trainers with developing cross-training on particular application support areas for IT personnel
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or significant experience in lieu of degree will be considered
Experience:
- Supervisory experience is required as well as 3+ years in a Help Desk support environment, preferably in a professional services environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must possess advanced Microsoft Office XP Suite experience and technical related computer skills
- Must be able to provide accurate and quality answers to questions called in or referred to the Help Line by email or any other means
- Must be able to maintain a calm demeanor, positive attitude and strong customer service skills under stressful conditions
- Must be able to function under extreme pressure involving time deadlines
- Must possess problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Must possess the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Must possess strong detail organization skills
- Must possess the ability to work independently on multiple projects
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral & written) skills required
- Must be able to take the lead on projects and problems when requested or as appropriate and to make judgment decisions and use initiative to anticipate user needs

Litigation Support Assistant
|
The Houston office has an opening for a Litigation Support Assistant to help our Litigation Support Manager and Coordinators with case projects by processing database load files, conducting search queries and generating reports from our databases. The position also provides telephone support for litigation support applications. A four-year college degree is desirable; 2-3 years' experience with Summation and similar litigation support database programs is required. Qualified applicants must also have knowledge of imaging, scanning, electronic data production and data load files. Knowledge of Microsoft office suite, and Summation LG is required. Familiarity with CaseSoft products, Sanction, Trial Director, Prolaw and any other litigation support software is a plus.

Senior Systems Analyst
|
The position is responsible for the technical administration, maintenance and support of the firm’s financial system (Elite Enterprise) as well as related applications (collectively, the financial systems) within the Knowledge Services Department. Some of the responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- administers and maintains the data and operational integrity of the financial systems, and performs regular system hygiene; troubleshoots delays, errors and integration failures
- acts as the primary source of escalation for all Elite related technical issues
- provides technical and process support for system configurations, customizations and integrations/interfaces to internal and external systems
- assists in the design and development of custom processes to adapt Elite to the firm’s needs and specifications; monitors processes and troubleshoots errors and process failures
- provides system administration and technical support to the Financial Services department in connection with their use of the financial systems
- acts as liaison to IT for financial systems technical issues
Required Skills for the position:
