In April 2007, the firm launched five firmwide affinity groups for lawyers: African American/Black Affinity Group; Asian Pacific American Affinity Group; Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) Affinity Group; Hispanic/Latino Affinity Group; and Global Women's Forum. The affinity groups provide a forum for our women and diverse lawyers to network and exchange ideas. Additionally, the Houston and Dallas offices have established affinity groups for parents called Parents in Law. The parent groups are designed to provide a forum for lawyers who are parents to discuss issues facing working parents, share strategies and learn from the experience of others. The groups also serve as a forum for expectant parents as they transition to their new roles as working parents. Members of the Diversity Committee are active participants in, and sponsors of, each affinity group.
